Bringing smiles with sunset boat cruise

When we returned in April 2018 to check on the school progress, we wanted to create an unforgettable experience for the students. In Kampot, one of the favorite past times for tourists is relaxing at a restaurant overlooking the water or taking a boat ride to watch the sunset. For these local students, it would be an extra-special treat to go on a sunset boat ride. 

During the week, we scoured the area, talking to various vendors to find the best price. After weighing our options, we chose a vendor who not only offered a fair price but also had the warmest personality and was most accommodating to our requests. Synath, the local teacher, helped spread the word among the students during the classes, and the moment they heard about the plan, the place erupted in cheers of excitement.

We made sure to arrange for food and drinks for each student, to make the experience even more memorable. And when we set out on the boat, the smiles were truly contagious! The joy was palpable as we all soaked in the beautiful sunset. Synath and his family also joined in on the fun, making the evening even more special.

It was a celebration of happiness, connection, and unforgettable moments.
