Meet the supplies wholesaler

For Canadians, the term supplies wholesaler might conjure up images of giant warehouse stores - think Costco or Staples or factory outlets - where everything sits on pallets and you need a forklift to grab larger orders. While those places might exist in Nepal, when we talk about the wholesaler we use for sourcing school supplies for our Nepal project… well, it's a bit more down-to-earth.

There are many of these little shops in Surkhet, Nepal that offer wholesale prices. The shop we've partnered with is a friendly, family-run shop. You've got the main guy running the show, his wife expertly managing the chaos and payment, and their young son occasionally popping out from the back, probably judging our bargaining skills, or seeing if we packed an extra lollipop.
