2025: A Year of Impact, Because of You

Thanks to your generosity and support, the #BringASmile to Nepal project gave 500 students in Nepal school supplies for the entire school year, giving them the tools and confidence to learn without financial barriers. Listen to the school principal describe how you made a difference!

Why Nepal?

One of the questions we're often asked is: "Why Nepal?"

Our answer is simple: Because the opportunity was there.

While every country holds its own challenges, Nepal became the place where timing, genuine need of the remote region, and trusted local support came together in a meaningful way. It was a chance to act, to respond when a real opportunity presented itself. 

Honestly, there is no perfect place or perfect moment to make a difference. Around the world, people struggle every day to meet their most basic needs, even in Canada and the US. Through our travels, we continue to look for opportunities locally and internationally. Our goal is to uplift those facing poverty, whether that means buying someone a warm meal, helping an individual or a family through tough times, donating money, or bringing school supplies, toys, and essential items to orphanages and schools.

Even the smallest act of kindness can light hope, bring smiles and create change. Nepal is the place where your donation first made a difference.

A Big Milestone in 2025

This year, Improve Their Lives Canada was officially incorporated in Ontario. 

We are currently waiting for the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) to review and approve our application to become a registered charity in Canada (this process can take up to 9 months). When we are able to finally issue tax receipts, we will continue to ensure that 100% of your donations will be used towards poverty relief, and all operating expenses will be covered by our Board of Directors. 

This way, your generosity has maximum impact, just like it did this year.

(1) Be Our Holiday Ambassador

As you gather with friends, family, and colleagues this season, let them know about Improve Their Lives Canada and our #BringASmile to Nepal project:

• Share how you helped 500 students in Nepal; and

• Ask them to subscribe to our newsletters to stay connected with our initiatives and updates.

(2) Start Your 2026 "Kindness Resolution"

As you plan for the new year, please:

• Set aside a small amount of money towards school supplies (e.g., $50 helps 5 students).

• Encourage your friends, family and colleagues to do the same.

Our fundraising will start in the early Spring.  We wish you a prosperous 2026 New Year!
